Mental Health Clinician | Community Mental Health (Acute Care Team)

About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Clinician to join the Lismore Acute Care Team. In this role, you will play a key part in expanding service capacity and delivering timely support to adults (18+) experiencing acute mental health crises. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide assessment, short-term intervention, and coordinate referrals to Adult Mental Health Services or other appropriate external providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide community-based acute mental health interventions and crisis response
- Conduct triage, comprehensive assessments, risk assessment, and safety planning
- Deliver short-term case management and assertive outreach
- Provide brief psychoeducation and therapeutic interventions
- Collaborate in care planning and discharge with internal and external stakeholders
- Practice in accordance with Trauma-Informed Care and Recovery principles
Requirements
- Qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing
- Current AHPRA registration or AASW eligibility
- Experience in acute or community mental health settings
- Strong assessment, crisis intervention, and collaborative care skills
- Ability to work independently and manage high-pressure clinical situations
- NSW Driver’s Licence and Working With Children Check
